March 3, 2021 Opinion or Order Filing 9 BELO CASE MANAGEMENT ORDER. This Case Management Order applies to all cases arising out of the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation proceedings, which were initially consolidated in the Eastern District of Louisiana, MDL No. 2179, and subsequently transferred to this Court pursuant to the terms of a Medical Benefits Class Action Settlement Agreement (Settlement Agreement). The parties are directed to confer and submit a proposed consent confidentiality and ESI protective order and also a proposed HIPAA Protective Order for the Court's approval within 14 days of the date of this Order. All discovery must be commenced in time to be completed within 365 days of this Order, or of the docketing of a BELO case transferred to this District after the date of this Order, whichever is later (hereafter, "the docketing date"). Dispositive and Daubert motions are to be filed no later than 60 days following the close of discovery. Responses are due within 30 days. Replies are allowed only at the Courts request. The parties are directed to engage in one round of a settlement conference/mediation before the assigned United States Magistrate Judge within the 60-day period after the close of discovery and before the filing of dispositive motions and promptly notify the Court of the outcome.
