Rule 7.1(c) of the Local Rules of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida provides that each party opposing a motion shall file and serve an opposing memorandum of law no later than fourteen (14) days after service of the motion, and that failure to do so may be deemed sufficient cause for granting the motion by default. Here, the record reflects that on February 20, 2019, Defendant filed a motion to dismiss. The time to respond under the rules -- March 6, 2019 -- has passed and, to date, Plaintiff has not filed a response. Accordingly, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that on or before April 2, 2019, Plaintiff shall file a response to the motion to dismiss and SHOW CAUSE in writing why Defendant's motion should not be granted by default.
