PAPERLESS ORDER STRIKING Defendant School Board of Broward County's #8 Motion to Dismiss. Our #5 Multiple Defendants Order provides that "[a]ll Defendants must jointly file any motions responding to the complaint," including motions to dismiss. Multiple Defendants Order ¶ 6. The Defendant School Board has moved to dismiss on its own behalf only, contravening our Order. We'll allow it to re-raise this Motion to Dismiss jointlywith the other Defendants in the case. Separately, our Multiple Defendants Order directs the Plaintiff to file proof of service as to each defendant within seven days of perfecting service on that Defendant. See Multiple Defendants Order ¶ 1. By January 31, 2025, the Plaintiff must file proof of service on the Defendant School Board. Additionally, by that same date, the Plaintiff must correct his proof of service on Defendant Tavures Williams. The #7 Proof of Service the Plaintiff filed for Williams lists the name of Defendant Valerie Harris twice and seems to list Harris's address twice as well. See Proof of Service at 3, 5. If the Plaintiff can't correct his Proof of Service because he never properly served Williams, he must file a notice on the docket saying so and thereafter properly serve Williams. The Defendants must answer or respond to the #1 Complaint within 21 days of when the last Defendant is served. We remind all served Defendants that our Multiple Defendants Order requires them to file notices of appearance within 21 days of service. Multiple Defendants Order ¶ 2. Signed by Judge Roy K. Altman on 1/28/2025. (es00)
