Filing 12
PAPERLESS ORDER denying without prejudice #10 Joint Motion for Order Establishing Briefing Schedule and for Leave to File Briefs Exceeding the Page Limits. Although the parties' proposed briefing schedule seems acceptable to the Court, the motion will be denied without prejudice so that the parties can confer and refile the motion to clarify the request for excess pages. The language in the motion seems to suggest that Respondent would be filing two separate documents on June 15, 2026, each being 30 pages in length (totaling 60 pages for Respondent's response to Petitioner's motion and Respondent's separate motion). Similarly, the parties' language suggests that, on July 8, 2026, the Court would receive an additional 45 pages of briefing (30 pages for Petitioner's response to Respondent's motion and 15 pages for Petitioner's reply in support of its own motion). Given the potential for significant overlap in the filings, it is unclear to the Court why the parties would need the number of pages the motion seems to request. Therefore, no later than May 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM, the parties shall confer and file a renewed motion that (1) clarifies the amount of pages the parties are requesting (and whether the motion/response on June 15 and the response/reply on July 8 would be combined filings) and (2) explains more thoroughly why the requested amount of pages is necessary. Signed by Magistrate Judge Jared M. Strauss on 5/6/2026. (jva)
