April 6, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 16 PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS CAUSE came before the Court upon a sua sponte review of the record. On February 24, 2020 Plaintiff filed this action against Defendant The Republic of Cuba. #1 . Service of process upon foreign nations is governed by 28 USC 1608(a), which permits a claimant to serve foreign governments by sending a copy of the summons and complaint and a notice of suit, together with a translation, to the head of the ministry of foreign affairs of the foreign state concerned. 28 USC 1608(a). On February 25, 2020, a summons was issued as to Defendant The Republic of Cuba #9 , but on March 13, 2020, that summons was returned undeliverable. #15 . To date, the record does not reflect any further attempt to perfect service of process upon Defendant The Republic of Cuba. Accordingly, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that Plaintiff shall file a status report on or before April 10, 2020 advising the Court as to the status of service of process upon Defendant The Republic of Cuba. February 27, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 12 PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS CAUSE came before the Court upon Plaintiff's Response to Order to Show Cause. #11 . On February 24, 2020, Plaintiff filed the Complaint #1 and the Clerk of the Court notified (the "Notice") Plaintiff that it had not paid the correct fees and instructed Plaintiff to pay the correct fees and file a Notice of Compliance of Filing Fee within twenty-four (24) hours. 4 . On February 26, 2020, the Court ordered Plaintiff to show cause why it had not filed the Notice of Compliance of Filing Fee and paid the correct fees. 10 . In Plaintiff's Response, Plaintiff explains that after receiving the Notice from the Clerk of the Court, Plaintiff contacted the Clerk of the Court to remedy the situation. #11 . As a result, the Clerk of the Court issued a corrective notice stating that the Notice was entered in error. Id.; 6 . Accordingly, the Court finds that Plaintiff has paid the correct filing fees. February 26, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 10 PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS CAUSE came before the Court upon a sua sponte examination of the record. On February 24, 2020, Plaintiff filed the instant action. #1 . However, Plaintiff failed to pay the required filing fee. Accordingly, on February 24, 2020, the Clerk of Court notified Plaintiff and instructed Plaintiff to file a Notice of Compliance of Filing Fee and electronically pay the correct fees of $6,948.00 within 24 hours of the notice. 4 . As of February 26, 2020, Plaintiff has not filed a Notice of Compliance of Filing Fee and the record does not reflect that Plaintiff has paid the correct fees. Accordingly, Plaintiff is hereby ORDERED TO SHOW CAUSE in writing, not to exceed three pages, on or before February 28, 2020 at 12:00PM, why Plaintiff has failed to file a Notice of Compliance of Filing Fee and electronically pay the correct fees. Alternatively, Plaintiff may file a Notice of Compliance of Filing Fee and electronically pay the correct fees by that time.
