PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS CAUSE came before the Court upon Plaintiff's Notice of Voluntary Dismissal. #7 . Rule 41(a)(1)(A) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure allows a plaintiff to voluntarily dismiss a claim prior to a defendant's filing of an answer or a motion for summary judgment, or after an answer has been filed where the dismissal bears the signatures of both parties. Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1)(A)(i). In this case, neither an answer nor a motion for summary judgment has been filed by any Defendant. Accordingly, UPON CONSIDERATION of the Notice, the pertinent portions of the record, and being otherwise fully advised in the premises, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that the above-styled cause is hereby DISMISSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. PAPERLESS ORDER. THIS CAUSE came before the Court upon Defendants' Unopposed Motion for Stay. #5 . Therein, Defendants request that the Court stay the case "to allow Plaintiff sufficient time to respond to the [Request for Evidence ("RFE")] and for [United States Citizenship and Immigration Service ("USCIS")] to process the I-485 Application thereafter." Id. at 2. Defendants provide that on October 10, 2025, USCIS sent Plaintiff a RFE related to Plaintiff's I-485 Application and that USCIS "anticipates adjudication of the I-485 Application once Plaintiff responds to the RFE." Id. at 1. Defendants further state that they "will notify the Court once a decision on Plaintiff's I-485 Application is issued[,]" and as "[t]his is the relief Plaintiff seeks by way of the Complaint,... this relief would moot out this case." Id. at 2. Lastly, Defendants state that "[s]hould no decision issue within 60 days of an order staying this case, Defendant will file a status report updating the Court and Plaintiff on the status of Plaintiff's I-485 Application at that time." Id. Plaintiff is unopposed to the relief requested. Id. "The district court has broad discretion to stay proceedings as an incident to its power to control its own docket." Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, B.V. v. Consorcio Barr S.A., 377 F.3d 1164, 1172 n.7 (11th Cir. 2004) (quoting Clinton v. Jones, 520 U.S. 681, 706 (1997)). The length of the requested stay will not be indefinite or immoderate. See Ortega Trujillo v. Conover & Co. Commc'ns, 221 F.3d 1262, 1264 (11th Cir. 2000). The moving party bears the burden of showing good cause and reasonableness for staying proceedings. Feldman v. Flood, 176 F.R.D. 651, 652 (M.D. Fla. 1997) (citing Howard v. Galesi, 107 F.R.D. 348, 350 (S.D.N.Y. 1985)). Here, the Court finds that Defendants have shown good cause to warrant granting a 30-day stay in this case. Accordingly, UPON CONSIDERATION of the Motion #5 , pertinent portions of the record, and otherwise being fully advised in the premises, it is hereby ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that Defendants' Unopposed Motion for Stay #5 is GRANTED IN PART. This case is hereby STAYED for thirty (30) days. Within 30 days, the Parties shall enter a status report updating the Court on the status of this Action, and Defendants may move for an extension of the stay, if needed. Signed by Judge K.
