PAPERLESS ORDER granting #25 Motion for Relief from Joint Filing Requirement and for Extension of Answer Deadline ("Motion"). On May 18, 2026, the Court entered an Order Requiring Combined Responses, [ECF No. 11], which provided that "all Defendants shall submit a single combined response or separate answers within the time allowed for the last-served Defendant to respond." After all sixteen Defendants were served, the Court entered a Paperless Order, [ECF No 17], clarifying that Defendants shall respond to or answer Plaintiffs' Complaint on or before July 14, 2026. On July 6, 2026, Defendant President Donald J. Trump filed the instant Motion, [ECF No. 25], requesting 1) that the Court set aside its Order Requiring Combined Responses and permit him to submit a separate response; and 2) extend the deadline for all Defendants to file their responses or answers by four weeks--through August 11, 2026. See generally Mot. The other Defendants consent to both requests, but Plaintiffs oppose the relief sought in the Motion. See Mot. at 2. Given that Defendant President Donald J. Trump is the sitting President and is sued in his official capacity, the Court agrees that his response may raise distinct arguments relating to his role. Accordingly, the Court will permit Defendant President Donald J. Trump to file a separate response to Plaintiff's Complaint not to exceed twenty (20) pages. All other Defendants shall file a combined response or separate answers in accordance with the Court's Order Requiring Combined Responses, [ECF No. 11]. Moreover, the Court finds good cause to extend Defendants' deadline to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint by four weeks. Accordingly, Defendants shall respond to or answer Plaintiffs' Complaint on or before August 11, 2026. No further extensions will be granted absent extenuating circumstances. The Court acknowledges that Plaintiffs oppose both requests. See Mot. at 2. However, the Court finds that the relief sought in the Motion is reasonable given the complex nature of this case and the number of Defendants involved. As such, the Motion, [ECF No. 25], is GRANTED.
