Date Filed Document Text
February 14, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 7 PAPERLESS ORDER denying without prejudice #6 Motion to Reopen. The Plaintiff asks us to give him an opportunity to amend his complaint, see Motion to Reopen ("Mot.") [ECF No. 6], after we dismissed it for failure to state a claim, see Order [ECF No. 5]. In support, the Plaintiff cites to the general principle that he is entitled to file an amended complaint as a matter of right under Fed. R. Civ. P. 15. See Mot. But he hasn't given us the slightest hint as to what he might say. Nor has he filed a proposed amended complaint. For this reason, we DENY his Motion to Reopen. Still, we'll give the Plaintiff an opportunity to file an amended complaint. His amended complaint, though, must comply with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and our Local Rules. And the Plaintiff must do so by March 7, 2022. Lastly, any amended complaint mustn't exceed 20 pages in length and must substantially follow the form complaint for such actions. Signed by Judge Roy K. Altman (bca)
