Filing 6 NOTICE of Compliance (with notice requirement to state court) by State of Florida, Department of Transportation (Attachments: #1 Exhibit copy of notice filed in state court) (Stinson, Monica) |
Filing 5 PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #3 Motion for Extension of Time. Defendant State of Florida, Department of Transportation seeks an extension of time to respond to the complaint from February 25, 2022 until March 30, 2022. In support, Defendant states that it is seeking outside representation due to what Defendant describes as complex issues relating to tax laws involved in this action. Defendant represents that the process of obtaining outside counsel for a state agency requires more time than normally required for a private party to retain same. Therefore, Defendant seeks the requested extension both due to the complexity of the issues involved and the retention of outside counsel. Plaintiff does not oppose the requested extension but contests Defendant's characterization of the issues in this case. I find good cause to grant the requested relief in part. Accordingly, Defendant must respond to the complaint on or by March 23, 2022. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 2/23/2022. (kal) |
