March 18, 2024 Opinion or Order Filing 9 PAPERLESS ORDER: To ensure effectuation of proper service on Defendant, and mindful of the policy disfavoring defaults, the Court hereby directs Plaintiff to file a Supplement on Service, or alternatively, to file additional proof of service on the docket. Defendant is a Florida limited liability company. As such, Defendant may be served by delivering a copy of the summons and complaint to Defendant's registered agent. See Fla. Stat. 48.062. The summons returned executed indicates that a copy of the summons and complaint was delivered to the registered agent's address; however, the process server left these materials with an individual identified as the registered agent's daughter #4 . An LLC may not be served in this manner under either the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure or Florida law. See Fed. R. Civ. Stat. 48.062 (governing permissible methods of service on limited liability companies).
