October 21, 2019 Opinion or Order Filing 5 PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #3 Defendant's Motion for Enlargement of Time. Defendant removed Plaintiff's lawsuit to this Court on October 11, 2019, making Defendants response to the Complaint due by October 18, 2019. On that deadline, Defendant moved for a two-week extension of time to respond to the Complaint. (DE #3 ). In the present Motion, Defendant states that it is "currently in the process of reviewing the claim file documentation to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint and therefore, a brief 14-day enlargement of time to respond" is necessary. (DE #3 at 1). Defendant also asserts, without further explanation, that good cause justifying the requested extension exists. (Id.). Defendant's vague and conclusory assertions do not justify the requested extension; however, I will grant a limited extension in the interest of judicial efficiency (considering Defendant's deadline to respond has already passed). I will require Defendant to file its response by October 28, 2019. This extended deadline does not excuse the Parties from compliance with any other deadline in this litigation. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 10/21/2019. (kal)
