April 2, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 12 PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #11 Defendant's Motion for Extension of Time. Defendant's answer to Plaintiffs' Complaint is due by April 3, 2020. In the present Motion, Defendant requests a forty-five-day extension of this deadline. (DE #11 ). According to the Motion, Plaintiffs assert that only a thirty-day extension should be given. (Id. at 2). Defendant requests an extension because its counsel only became aware of this lawsuit recently and counsel does not have enough time to "research and draft a meaningful response, particularly given the likelihood of complicated jurisdictional issues, the interpretation of a foreign contract, and other issues that will required additional research and investigation." (Id. at 2). Defendant also states that the disruption cause by Covid-19 will also delay its ability to prepare a response to the Complaint. (Id. at 2-3). I find good cause to grant a thirty-day extension; Defendant's response to the Complaint is due by May 3, 2020. Understanding the wide-scale business disruption caused by the pandemic, I know that delays are inevitable, and I intend to be responsive to the Parties' needs in this regard, however the Parties should still be making reasonably diligent efforts to comply with the deadlines in this case and alert me if there are specific obstacles they cannot overcome within the time frames provided. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 4/2/2020. (jdr)

February 27, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 8 PAPERLESS ORDER denying #7 Plaintiffs' Motion to Modify Trial Date. Trial is currently set for the two-week trial period beginning on October 13, 2020. (DE #6 ). In the present Motion, Plaintiffs seek to modify that trial date because Plaintiffs' counsel is set for another trial during that same trial period before Judge Smith. I will deny the Motion as I find it to be premature. If it becomes clear that this case and the case before Judge Smith will both be proceeding to trial, Plaintiffs are permitted to renew their Motion. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 2/27/2020. (jdr)

February 19, 2020 Opinion or Order Filing 5 PAPERLESS ORDER denying without prejudice #4 Plaintiffs' "Motion to Appoint Special Process Service." In the Motion, Plaintiffs state that they "have been advised by APS International Ltd.," who is presumably a process server, "that to effect service of process in Germany an Order of this Court is required to appoint" APS as special process server. (DE #4 at 2). Plaintiffs do not offer any legal basis or supporting facts demonstrating that a process server should be appointed in this matter. Moreover, even if appointment of a process server is appropriate in this matter, Plaintiffs have not provided sufficient information demonstrating that the proposed process server is qualified. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 4(c). The motion is denied without prejudice. If Plaintiffs intend to renew the motion, they should do so by February 24, 2020. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 2/19/2020. (jdr)
