PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #9 Motion for Extension of Time to File Answer/Response to Complaint. Defendants seek an extension of the deadline to respond to Plaintiff's complaint by fifteen days from September 29, 2020 to October 13, 2020. In support, Defendants cite a generalized need for "additional time to prepare a response to the Complaint" and "to gather documentation relevant to the... claim." (DE 9 at 1-2). Defendants also represent that the Parties held a telephonic conference on September 17, 2020 to discuss the claims and are scheduled to communicate again this week. (Id. at 2). Motions for extensions of time may not be premised upon conclusory assertions or vague generalities; rather, they must set forth good cause supported by specific facts. Because Defendants' Motion fails to set forth specific facts by which the Court may evaluate whether good cause exists to grant the requested relief, I will only grant the requested relief in part. Accordingly, the deadline for Defendants to respond to the Complaint is extended to October 7, 2020. Future requests for extensions will be denied unless the moving party can establish that a particular deadline could not be met despite diligent efforts supported by particular facts.
