Filing 10 PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #9 Defendant's Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time. Defendant's Answer is currently due to be filed by September 17, 2021. (DE #8 ). Defendant seeks to extend the deadline to respond to the Complaint to October 18, 2021, citing that counsel was "retained on or around September 10, 2021" and would like "additional time to review and respond to the allegations in the Complaint." (DE #9 ). Although the basis for the requested relief is vague, I find good cause for a short extension given that counsel was just retained last week. Therefore the deadline for Defendant to respond to the Complaint shall be extended to September 27, 2021. Future requests for extensions will be denied unless the motion establishes good cause and is supported by specific facts. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 9/16/2021. (kal) |
