PAPERLESS ORDER SETTING DEADLINE TO FILE CLOSING DOCUMENTS. On September 17, 2021, Plaintiff notified the Court that the Parties have settled this matter (DE #16 ), and the Court congratulates the Parties on reaching an amicable resolution of this case. The Parties shall file appropriate closing documents within 10 days, or no later than September 27, 2021. The court will retain jurisdiction to enforce the terms of the Parties' settlement agreement if requested to do so before closing the case. The Parties' request that they be excused from "fil[ing] any further responses, motions and/or pleadings" is denied. This Court does not view the Notice of Settlement as cause to stay ongoing litigation, and therefore until a voluntary dismissal is filed, the court will expect compliance with all pretrial deadlines. PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #12 Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time. Defendants request a 45-day extension of the deadline to respond to the Complaint on the grounds that counsel was "recently retained" and also because Defendants wish to explore settlement options. (DE #12 at p. 2). In the interest of encouraging the early resolution of this dispute I will grant an extension, however the 45-day delay that Defendants request would potentially complicate previously set pretrial deadlines (see DE #4 ). Therefore the motion is granted in part, and I will extend the deadline for Defendant to respond to the Complaint to September 20, 2021. No further extensions of this deadline will be granted absent compelling circumstances. Moreover, no other pretrial deadlines are modified or extended as a result of this Order.
