September 3, 2021 Opinion or Order Filing 11 PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time. Defendant's response to the Complaint was due on September 2, 2021. Defendant requests an extension until September 16, 2021 because it "may be required to visit and analyze the locations forming the basis of this action." (DE #10 at 1). Motions for extension of time must establish good cause supported by specific facts. Defendant's vague and hypothetical reasons for requiring an extension fall short of the good cause standard. Notwithstanding, because the Motion is unopposed, I will grant a brief one-week extension. Accordingly, Defendant shall respond to the Complaint on or before September 10, 2021. Additionally, I note that Defendant's motion was docketed on the filing deadline. Going forward, counsel should ensure that requests for extension of time are made in advance of the deadline sought to be extended. Signed by Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks on 9/3/2021. (kal)
