PAPERLESS ORDER granting in part #9 Defendant M&E Appraisal Associates, Inc.'s Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time. The deadline for Defendant to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint was November 17, 2021. (DE #6 ). Defendant now seeks an extension until January 18, 2022, citing that counsel was "recently retained" and needs more time to "review the record, pertinent pleadings and other documents, discuss the case with client [sic], and conduct other investigative matters." (DE #9 at paras. 2, 5). Defendant further cites that "[t]he parties are... discussing a potential early resolution." (Id. at para. 3). Although the basis for the extension is vague, I find good cause to grant Defendant's Motion in part. Therefore, the deadline for Defendant M&E Appraisal Associates, Inc. to respond to Plaintiff's Complaint is extended to December 2, 2021. Defendant is advised that future motions for extensions of time must be filed in advance of the deadline sought to be extended, not on the filing deadline. Moreover, all motions for extension of time must explain why good cause exists by pointing to specific facts. No other litigation deadlines are modified as a result of this Order.
