| Filing 8 EO: In Civil No. 20-217, Mr. Scher appears to be seeking either further relief in his pending 2255 action and/or separate relief in the form of compassionate release. In either or both events, Mr. Scher's requests relate to the underlying judgment in Crim. No. 15-614. For that reason, the court directs future filings regarding matters raised in Civil No. 20-217 to be filed in Crim. 15-614. Keeping in mind that Mr. Scher's pending 2255 filings (Civil No. 20-60) are already being filed in Crim No. 15-614, this court sees no reason to create confusion by having documents filed in Civil No. 20-217, and the court closes that action. This in no way affects Mr. Scher's ability to pursue any relief, as the court will address within Crim. No. 15-614 all the matters raised by Mr. Scher's Minnesota filings presently reflected on the docket sheet in Civil No. 20-217. The court deems Mr. Scher's requests for relief to be intended to be addressed to the United States, and the court will shortly ask for a response by the United States Attorney's Office in the District of Hawaii. However, before setting a deadline for such a response, the court asks the Federal Public Defender's Office to inform the court no later than May 20 whether it wishes to represent Mr. Scher on his compassionate release request.
