November 8, 2022 Opinion or Order Filing 12 EO: On October 6, 2022, Plaintiff filed a #1 Petition for Declaratory Judgment Without Relief Persuant [sic] to FRCP Rule 57 ("Petition"). Plaintiff did not attach a Civil Cover Sheet to his Petition. Based on the allegations in the Complaint, the Clerk's Office assigned the following designations, which are indicated on the CM/ECF page for this case: (1) Nature of Suit: 441 Civil Rights: Voting; and (2) Cause: 42:1983 Civil Rights. These designations are for administrative purposes only.On November 2, 2022, Plaintiff filed a #9 Motion for Correction of the Record Persuant [sic] to FRCP Rule 60 ("Motion for Correction"). Plaintiff asks the Court to revise the designated Nature of Suit to "375 False Claims Act" and Cause to "28 USC 2201." Plaintiff attaches to the Motion for Correction a [9-1] Civil Cover Sheet, in which Plaintiff reiterates his requested Nature of Suit and Cause. The Court notes that these designations are used solely for administrative purposes and do not affect the substance of the Petition in any way. The Court GRANTS Plaintiff's request to revise the designated Nature of Suit to "375 False Claims Act." Due to the constraints of the CM/ECF program, however, Plaintiff's requested Cause, "28 USC 2201," is not compatible with Plaintiff's new Nature of Suit. The Court thus DENIES Plaintiff's request to revise the Cause to "28 USC 2201." The Court DIRECTS the Clerk's Office to revise the Nature of Suit to "375 False Claims Act." The Court also DIRECTS the Clerk's Office to revise the Cause to "31:3729 False Claims Act," which is compatible with Plaintiff's new Nature of Suit. IT IS SO ORDERED. Signed by MAGISTRATE JUDGE KENNETH J. MANSFIELD on 11/08/2022. (kjm2)
