TEXT ORDER entered by District Judge Jonathan E Hawley on 1/31/2025. On December 23, 2024, Plaintiff filed a Complaint #1 but did not pay the $405 filing fee or file a Petition to Proceed in forma pauperis ("IFP Petition"). The Court ordered Plaintiff to pay the $405 filing fee in full or file an IFP Petition by January 13, 2025, and warned that the failure to do so would result in the dismissal of this case without prejudice. (d/e 12/23/2024). On December 30, 2024, the Court ordered Plaintiff to file an Amended Complaint by January 21, 2025, because his Complaint did not comply with Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 8. (d/e 12/30/2024). The Court warned Plaintiff that the failure to file a timely Amended Complaint would result in the dismissal of this case without prejudice. Id. To date, Plaintiff has not paid the $405 filing fee, filed an IFP Petition or an Amended Complaint, or sought an extension of time. Plaintiff filed three Notices #3 , #4 , #5 , but they do not appear to be an IFP Petition or an Amended Complaint. Therefore, this case is DISMISSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. Plaintiff remains responsible for paying the $405 filing fee. The Clerk is directed to close this case.(SAG)

TEXT ORDER entered by District Judge Jonathan E Hawley on 12/30/2024. Plaintiff, who is incarcerated at Lawrence Correctional Center, filed a Complaint under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 on 12/23/2024. Plaintiff's Complaint, which appears to name James Moore, Judge Scheber, and the People of Southern Illinois as Defendants, does not include any allegations. (Doc. #1 at p. 1). Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 8 states complaints must include "a short and plain statement of the claim showing that the pleader is entitled to relief." Fed. R. Civ. P. 8(a)(2). Furthermore, "[e]ach allegation must be simple, concise, and direct." Id. at (d)(1). Plaintiff's Complaint does not comply with Rule 8. Within 21 days of this Order, Plaintiff must file an Amended Complaint that clearly identifies the Defendants and the allegations against them. If Plaintiff fails to file an Amended Complaint by January 21, 2025, this case will be dismissed without prejudice. (SAG)

TEXT ORDER entered by District Judge Jonathan E Hawley on 12/23/2024. Plaintiff has filed a Complaint but has not paid the $405 filing fee nor filed a petition to proceed in forma pauperis. Within 21 days of the entry of this order, Plaintiff must pay the $405 filing fee in full or file a petition to proceed in forma pauperis with attached trust fund ledgers for the last 6 months. Failure to comply without good cause will result in dismissal of this case without prejudice, and the Plaintiff will still be responsible for payment of the filing fee. See 28 U.S.C. Sec. 1914.
