May 8, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 12 TEXT ORDER: Defendants' #11 Motion for Extension of Time to File Answer or Other Responsive Pleading is GRANTED. Under Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b)(1)(A), courts may, for good cause, extend time when a request is made before the original deadline expires. And Civil Local Rule 6.1 requires parties seeking an extension to state whether the opposing party consents to it. Defendants' motion does not do so, nor does it indicate that Defendants attempted to contact Plaintiff about the extension. Nonetheless, based on the circumstances discussed in Defendant's motion, the Court finds good cause. Accordingly, Defendants must file an answer or other responsive motion to Plaintiff's complaint on or by July 7, 2026. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on May 8, 2026. (NL)

Civil LR 16.3(B)(4)(b). Here, the Court has determined that the Plaintiff has had at least three prior cases that were dismissed for failing to state a federal claim for relief. See, e.g., Schneider et al v. Wells Fargo Bank, NA et al, 1:19-cv-01297-JEH-RLH, (C.D. Ill. 2025); Patterson v. Adams et al, 1:17-cv-01078-JES-JEH, (C.D. Ill. 2017); Patterson v.
