September 10, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 20 ORDER regarding Plaintiff's #7 Motion to Transfer and Defendant's #17 Motion to Transfer Case. The Court has reviewed Plaintiff's #7 Motion to Transfer, Defendant's #17 Motion to Transfer, and Plaintiff's #19 Response to Motion to Transfer. 28 U.S.C. 1404(a) permits a district court to transfer a civil action [f]or the convenience of parties and witnesses, [and] in the interest of justice, to any district where it might have been brought or to any district to which all parties have consented. Id.; see also Rsch. Automation, Inc. v. Schrader-Bridgeport Int'l, Inc., 626 F.3d 973, 977-78 (7th Cir. 2010). In evaluating transfer, the Court considers both the convenience of the parties and public-interest considerations, applying a flexible and individualized analysis. Atl. Marine Constr. Co. v. U.S. Dist. Ct., 571 U.S. 49, 62 & n.6 (2013); Rsch. Automation, 626 F.3d at 978. The Parties represent that Plaintiff mistakenly believed Defendant to be a resident of Marion County. The Defendant is located in Macon County, which lies within the Central District of Illinois. Under these circumstances, the Court finds that transfer is warranted under 1404(a) for the convenience of the Parties and in the interest of justice. Accordingly, the Motions to Transfer Venue (Doc. #7 ; Doc. #17 ) are GRANTED, and the Clerk is DIRECTED to transfer this action to the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Signed by Judge David W. Dugan on 9/10/2026. (dmw2) THIS TEXT ENTRY IS AN ORDER OF THE COURT. NO FURTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE MAILED.
