Filing 7 MOTION for Leave to Proceed in forma pauperis by Plaintiff Helene Tonique Williams. Responses due by 11/6/2019 (SKN, ilcd) |
TEXT ORDER: Plaintiff's Application to Proceed in District Court Without Prepaying Fees or Costs #2 is DENIED. Plaintiff reported receiving income from "Business, profession, or other self-employment" and "Rent payments, interest, or dividends" but did not provide the additional required information about the source of the money, the amount received, and what she expects to receive in the future. Plaintiff has also not provided any information about her gross pay or wages or take-home pay or wages, instead stating that the pay "varies." Plaintiff did list her expenses and stated she has "nothing left after these needs are met." However, without the information regarding income, the Court cannot assess that statement. Plaintiff shall, on or before October 23, 2019, either pay the $400 filing fee or submit an Application to Proceed in District Court Without Prepaying Fees and Costs containing all of the required information. Plaintiff's Motion to Request Counsel #3 is DENIED with leave to refile. Plaintiff failed to list the attorneys or organizations she has contacted seeking representation in this case. Entered by Judge Sue E. Myerscough on 10/9/2019. (GL, ilcd) |
TEXT ORDER: Plaintiff filed a pro se complaint against several defendants related to alleged discrimination when she sought to join the Illinois National Guard. Plaintiff has also filed an Application to Proceed In District Court Without Prepaying Fees or Costs. The Court is in the process of reviewing Plaintiff's Application. Since then, however, Plaintiff has twice sought to add "new exhibits" and "explanation" (see d/e #4 , #5 ) and has also filed additional exhibits without seeking leave (d/e #6 ). The Court typically rejects piecemeal amendments to the complaint. However, the exhibits in docket entry #5 appear to supplement rather than amend the complaint. Therefore, the Court GRANTS the motion at docket entry #5 and will consider those exhibits along with the complaint. The exhibits and information contained in docket entries #4 and #6 do not appear to have anything to do with the instant case. Therefore, the motion filed at docket entry #4 is DENIED and the Court STRIKES the exhibits filed at docket entry #6 . Plaintiff is advised that the Court will not accept piecemeal amendments to the complaint and any future amendments to the complaint must comply with Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 15. The Court will rule on Plaintiff's Application to Proceed in District Court Without Prepaying Fees or Costs in due course. Entered by Judge Sue E. Myerscough on 10/03/2019. (SKN, ilcd) |
