TEXT ORDER: Before the Court is Plaintiff Mary Ellen Bascomb's pro se Notice of Removal. See d/e #1 . From the face of Ms. Bascomb's filing, it appears that she wishes to remove an eviction action filed against her in the Circuit Court of Sangamon County, Case No. 2022-EV-583. This Court, however, does not have jurisdiction over a state-law eviction action. See, e.g., Hous. Auth. of S. Bend v. Herndon, 2016 WL 7634538, at *1 (N.D. Ind. Mar. 31, 2016) ("However, a state court eviction does not arise under the Constitution, laws or treaties of the United States."); Kubiak v. Meltzer, 2013 WL 1114203 at *1 (N.D. Ill. March 15, 2013). And even if the Court did have jurisdiction over this action, the Court still would have no authority to entertain it. The Sangamon County docket indicates that a final judgment was entered against Ms. Bascomb on August 2, 2022. "A United States District Court has no authority to review final judgments of a state court in judicial proceedings." D.C. Ct. of Appeals v. Feldman, 460 U.S. 462, 482 (1983). For these reasons, this case is REMANDED to the Circuit Court of Sangamon County, Illinois, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1447(c). Any pending motions in this matter are DENIED as MOOT, any pending deadlines are TERMINATED, and any scheduled settings are VACATED. This case is CLOSED. Entered by Judge Sue E.
