TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Colleen R. Lawless on 11/16/2023. On November 1, 2023, Plaintiff filed his complaint #1 and a petition to proceed in forma pauperis ("IFP") #3 . Plaintiff later filed a Motion for a Change of Financial Status #7 , indicating he could pay the entire filing fee based on his receipt of a $2,000 settlement. Plaintiff then filed another IFP Petition #8 . Plaintiff's Motion #7 is GRANTED, and his IFP Motions #3 , #8 are DENIED. Plaintiff's trust fund ledgers #9 confirm a $2,000 deposit on October 11, 2023, and a balance of $1,238 on October 31, 2023. Accordingly, because Plaintiff had not shown that he is impoverished, the Court DIRECTS Plaintiff to pay the $402 filing fee within fourteen days of the entry of this order. See Merritte v. Templeton, 493 F. App'x 782, 784 (7th Cir. 2012) ("A litigant wishing to proceed in forma pauperis must show that he is unable to pay required filing fees."). Failure to comply will result in the dismissal of this case without prejudice. (KE)
