Lawless on 11/7/2025: Under the Social Security Act, an individual seeking judicial review of a final decision of the Commissioner of Social Security must, as relevant here, bring a case in the judicial district in which the plaintiff resides, or has his principal place of business. 42 U.S.C. Section 405(g). Plaintiff Ryan Patterson filed his Complaint against the Commissioner of Social Security here in the Central District of Illinois but lists his address as being in Ashtabula, Ohio. The Government recommends this case be transferred to the Northern District of Ohio. #5 . The Court agrees, finding it does not have jurisdiction over this case. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, this case is TRANSFERRED to the Northern District of Ohio. 28 U.S.C. Section 1631. (KLC)
