TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Colin Stirling Bruce on 1/15/2021. Plaintiff's motion for production of documents #5 is DENIED as premature. The Court, generally, does not permit a pro se prisoner plaintiff to engage in discovery until after the Court has conducted a merit review of his complaint under 28 USC Section 1915A, until after the Defendant(s) has been served and filed an Answer, and until after the Court has entered a Scheduling Order. Plaintiff has offered no reason why discovery is necessary now in contravention of this general rule. As for Plaintiff's second motion for a preliminary injunction #8 , second motion for production of documents #7 , and second motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #9 , those motions are each DENIED as being redundant. Plaintiff has filed these motions twice, and therefore, the second motions are denied as redundant. The Court will rule upon his motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis and upon his motion for preliminary injunctive relief as soon as possible. (SAG, ilcd) |
