| Filing 6 Response by Timothy Bell re Order to Show Cause. (Attachments: #1 Scanning Page)(KE) |
TEXT ORDER entered by Judge James E. Shadid on 3/8/2021. The Court DENIES Plaintiff's petition to proceed in forma pauperis #3 . Therein, Plaintiff asserts that he does not receive outside financial support and does not have financial accounts or possess any assets valued over ten dollars. However, Plaintiff's petition omits the balance of his trust fund account, which at the time he filed his complaint was $1,027.91. The Court notes that Plaintiff is familiar with the requirements to proceed in forma pauperis, as he has filed thirty-five cases in this District. Accordingly, within fourteen days of this order's entry, the Court directs Plaintiff to show good cause why this case should not be dismissed for failing to disclose his financial assets fully. See Donelson v. Tanner, 768 F. App'x 573, 574 (7th Cir. 2019) ("[A] court may find that a litigant committed fraud by lying about the amount of money that he can access."). The Court admonishes Plaintiff that his failure to comply with the Court's deadline or show good cause will result in dismissal of his case. (KE)
