TEXT ORDER: The Plaintiff's Complaint #1 alleges that, "Venue of this action properly lies in the Central District of Illinois, Rock Island Division, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1391(b) insofar as Defendant operates and transacts business in this judicial district and the events giving rise to Plaintiff's claims occurred within this District." However, the Complaint goes on to allege that the Plaintiff resides in Morgan County, Illinois and that the Defendant is a corporation doing business in and for Scott County with an address in Bluffs, Illinois. Further still, the Complaint alleges that the Plaintiff was hired by the Defendant as a barge cleaner at the Defendant's Bluffs, Illinois location. Both Morgan County and Scott County (wherein Bluffs, Illinois is located) are within the Springfield Division of this Court. Accordingly, the Plaintiff is ordered to show cause in writing, by 8/26/2022, why this case should not be transferred to the Springfield Division of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. See Civil LR 40.1(B) ("All complaints and subsequent filings in cases which arise from the following counties:... Morgan... Scott... will be filed at SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS").
