July 15, 2024 Opinion or Order TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Colleen R. Lawless on 7/15/2024. The Court DENIES Plaintiff's Petition to Proceed in Forma Pauperis #5 . Two days after Plaintiff filed his Complaint #1 , he filed a Petition to Proceed in Forma Pauperis #5 , showing that his trust fund balance was over $2,200, which Plaintiff's trust fund ledger #7 confirmed. Accordingly, because Plaintiff has not demonstrated that he is impoverished, the Court DIRECTS Plaintiff to pay the $405 filing fee within fourteen days of the entry of this order. See Merritte v. Templeton, 493 F. App'x 782, 784 (7th Cir. 2012) ("A litigant wishing to proceed in forma pauperis must show that he is unable to pay required filing fees."). Failure to comply will result in the dismissal of this case. (KE)
