TEXT ORDER: Defendant Professional Swine Management LLC's ("PSM") #13 Motion for Extension of Time to Answer or Otherwise Plead is GRANTED. Under Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b)(1)(A), courts may, for good cause, extend time when a request is made before the original deadline expires. Based on the circumstances discussed in Defendants' motion, the Court finds good cause. The Court notes, however, that Civil Local Rule 6.1 requires parties seeking an extension to state whether the opposing party consents to the motion. Defendant PSM states that it reached out to Plaintiff's counsel but has not received a response. Nonetheless, the Court finds the extension reasonable. Accordingly, Defendant PSM must file an answer or other responsive motion to Plaintiff's complaint on or by July 15, 2026. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on June 15, 2026. (NL)

TEXT ORDER: Plaintiffs filed a #7 waiver of service, which was sent to Defendants' counsel on March 9, 2026. The Courts review of that waiver, however, reveals that it includes the wrong final digit of the case number and dropped the first letter of the presiding District Judge's initials: it reads "4:26-cv-04036-LD-RLH," rather than "4:26-cv-04039-SLD-RLH." Accordingly, the Clerk is DIRECTED to STRIKE the #7 waiver. Plaintiff shall re-issue the waiver with the correct case information. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on April 28, 2026.(NL)

TEXT ORDER entered by Chief Judge Sara Darrow on February 13, 2026. When opening this case, Attorney Alvar Ayala classified it as seeking to bar or mandate statewide or nationwide enforcement of a state or federal law and, accordingly, it was put into a district-wide assignment pool per Civil Local Rule 40.1(E)(4)(b). But this case does not seek such relief, so it is not subject to district-wide assignment. The Clerk is directed to reassign the case to the Rock Island division per the complaint's caption. (LN)
