Date Filed Document Text
July 28, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 24 TEXT ORDER: Plaintiff has filed a #20 document, entitled "Motion to Compel." The Court identifies two principal flaws. First, discovery in this case has not yet opened, and the Court has not granted leave to conduct any early discovery. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 26(f). To the extent that Plaintiff's #20 motion asks the Court to compel Defendant to produce documents, the request is premature. Second, the #20 motion violates Civil Local Ruel 7.1(B)(1), which provides that all requests for relief must identify "the specific points or propositions of law and supporting authorities upon which the moving party relies," along with "the local or federal rule under which the motion is filed." Plaintiff's #20 motion identifies neither. Accordingly, Plaintiff's #20 motion is DENIED. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on July 28, 2026. (NL)

Plaintiff Paul Davis's #8 Emergency Motion for Preliminary Injunction, the #15 Motion for Emergency TRO Temporary Restraining Order, and the #16 Motion Invoke All Writs Act are DENIED. Defendant Bryan Tribble's #12 Motion for Extension of Time to Move to Dismiss the Complaint and Respond to Plaintiff's Motion for Injunctive Relief is GRANTED IN PART and MOOT IN PART. The request for an extension of time to respond to the motion for an injunction is MOOT in light of this Order. The request for an extension of time to file a motion to dismiss is GRANTED. Any motion to dismiss is due August 19, 2026. (AV)
July 20, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 17 TEXT ORDER entered by Judge Sara Darrow on July 20, 2026. The answer deadline in this case was erroneously set as July 31, 2026. Because Defendant Bryan Tribble was served on July 7, 2026, see #14 Summons, the answer deadline is RESET to July 28, 2026. (PJD)

June 8, 2026 Opinion or Order Filing 5 TEXT ORDER: Plaintiff's #4 motion for an extension of time is DENIED. Plaintiff's motion explains that he is a commercial driver and that he spends extended periods of time away from home. He thus asks the Court to "grant additional time in which to respond to any motion the opposition may file." Plaintiff's request is misplaced. The Court does not issue blanket prospective orders excusing a party's future untimely filings. Nor does Plaintiff have a response deadline currently pending. When Plaintiff does have such a deadline, he may ask the Court for an extension under Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b)(1)(A) and Civil Local Rule 6.1. That said, Plaintiff is advised of his option to apply to participate in electronic filing under Civil Local Rule 5.2. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on June 8, 2026. (NL)
