July 31, 2026 Filing 14 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. June 10, 2026 Filing 9 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. Chang: On review of the complaint, R. 1, the Court notes that the parties may want to consider a motion to transfer the case to the Central District of Illinois under 28 U.S.C. 1404(a). The Plaintiff alleges that she experienced unlawful employment actions at two of the Defendant's facilities: (1) a manufacturing plant in Peru, Illinois, that is on the LaSalle County side of the city, and (2) a warehouse facility in Spring Valley, Illinois, a city that is in Bureau County. R. 1, paras. 3, 5. But Bureau County falls within the Central District, and both of the facilities appear to be at least 30 miles closer to the Peoria courthouse of the Central District of Illinois than this District's Chicago courthouse (Chicago is the proper location for counties in the Eastern Division of NDIL, like LaSalle County). Although the Plaintiff alleges that some unlawful events occurred at the Peru manufacturing plant, R. 1, paras 1920, many also appear to have happened at the Spring Valley warehouse, including her location transfer, second job reassignment, denial of her request for FMLA leave, and employment termination, id., paras. 2125. So the parties may wish to consider transferring this case to the Central District of Illinois "[f]or the convenience of parties and witnesses." 28 U.S.C. 1404(a). The parties shall address this issue in the joint initial status report. Emailed notice (mw, )

Chang: Initial tracking status hearing set for 08/07/2026 at 8:30 a.m. to track the case only (no appearance is required, the case will not be called). Instead, the Court will set the case schedule after reviewing the written status report. The parties must file a joint initial status report with the content described in the ***ATTACHED*** status report requirements (do ***not*** use templates from other cases) by 07/29/2026. Plaintiff must still file the report even if Defendant has not responded to requests to craft a joint report. If Defendants has not been served, or waived servie then Plaintiff must complete a part of the report on the progress of service. Also, counsel (or the parties, if proceeding pro se) must carefully review Judge Chang's Case Management Procedures, available online at ilnd.uscourts.gov (navigate to Judges / District Judges / Judge Edmond E. Chang). Because the Procedures are occasionally revised, counsel (or the party, if proceeding pro se) must read them anew even if the counsel or the party has appeared before Judge Chang in other cases. ***PARTIES MUST COMPLY with all standing orders in the Case Procedures on Judge Chang's website, including the requirement of same-day digital courtesy copies of UNDER SEAL- FILINGS.*** Emailed notice (mw, ) (Attachment: #1 Status Report Requirement) (mw, ).
