ORDER: Although this case is now closed pursuant to the Court's March 5, 2014 order #202 granting the joint motion for dismissal with prejudice filed by the current parties in interest, a motion for sanctions filed by the original Plaintiff Micro Enhanced Technology against Defendant Videx, Inc. remains pending #191 . Upon consideration of the parties briefs (including supplemental briefs) on the sanctions motion, the Court determines that jurisdiction over the sanctions motion remains secure as it is collateral to the now-resolved underlying dispute. In addition, given Magistrate Judge Valdez's involvement in at least the initial stages of the parties' settlement discussions that are implicated in MET's motion for sanctions, this Court refers the motion to Judge Valdez for a ruling in the first instance.
