April 18, 2019 Filing 27 CERTIFICATE of Service by Defendants Mark Jenzen, Skyworks, LLC. Initial Discovery Requests (Attachments: #1 Supplement Request for Production, #2 Notice of Filing Notice of Filing Initial Discovery Requests)(Porter, Vincent)
April 1, 2019 Filing 26 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Jeffrey T. Gilbert: This case is set for an initial status hearing on 4/2/19 #24 . Counsel contacted the Court's courtroom deputy and asked that the status hearing in this case now set for 4/2/19 #24 be continued to a date in mid-May in light of the order entered on 3/20/19 #24 adopting Plaintiff's proposal in the parties' Joint Status Report that written discovery be served by 6/21/19. That status report, however, was filed on 1/29/19 #13 . Magistrate Judge Gilbert now has had a chance to review the entire docket in this case and notes the District Judge's order of 3/19/19 memorializing all parties' "continued failures to appear at hearings, to meet deadlines, or to comply with this Court's standing orders and the Local Rules of Civil Procedure." #19 Further, Plaintiff served its written discovery on 3/26/19 #25 . Accordingly, the Court modifies its earlier order #24 to provide that Defendants shall serve any written discovery requests they intend to serve by 4/18/19. The status hearing set for 4/2/19 is stricken and reset to 4/30/19 at 10:15 a.m. Mailed notice (ber, )

Prior to the status hearing, the parties shall familiarize themselves with the subjects referenced in Magistrate Judge Gilbert's Standing Order for Initial Status Report and his Standing Order for Settlement Conference posted on the Court's website at www.ilnd.uscourts.gov/Judges as applicable to referral cases. March 8, 2019 Filing 20 DECLARATION of Ryan E. Carreon regarding terminate hearings,,,,,,, set/reset hearings,,,,,, #19 (Higbee, Mathew)
March 7, 2019 Filing 19 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Despite the court's prior admonishment, local counsel still has not appeared on the plaintiff's behalf. The defendant, moreover, has requested leave to appear by telephone despite having missed the last two scheduled status hearings. In light of his record of non-appearance, the defendant's request for leave to appear telephonically is denied. The Court further notes that the MIDP initial disclosure deadline in this case was 3/4/2019 and that neither party has filed a notice of service of their initial MIDP responses as is required by section A(5) of the Amended Standing Order Regarding the Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Project. As it appears that neither party is fully prepared to go forward with the status hearing set for 3/8/2019, that hearing is stricken and reset for 3/11/2019 at 9:00 AM. The Court expects that local counsel for the plaintiff and counsel for the defendant will be present in court on that date (lead counsel for the plaintiff, who is located in California, is granted leave to appear by phone so long as the necessary information is provided to the Courtroom Deputy in accordance with this Court's standing orders). The Court expects that both parties will be in full compliance with their obligations under the Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Project when they appear on that date. Continued failures to appear at hearings, to meet deadlines, or to comply with this Court's standing orders and the Local Rules of Civil Procedure will result in sanctions. Mailed notice. (ym, )
February 22, 2019 Filing 18 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Status hearing held on 2/22/2019. Both parties failed to appear. The defendant's motion for an adjournment #16 , which was noticed in violation of this Court's standing orders, is denied. The Court notes that, despite two months of lead time, the defendant failed to appear at the 2/4/2019 status hearing, and subsequently failed to appear at this status hearing due to an unspecified conflict. The Court further notes that, despite a prior admonishment, local counsel still has not appeared on the plaintiff's behalf as is required by Local Rule 83.15 and as was represented in Ryan Carreon's motion for leave to appear pro hac vice. In light of this continuing failure to comply with the local rules, the plaintiff's incorrectly filed motion to strike #17 is stricken pursuant to Local Rule 83.15(b). The Court reminds the parties that, pursuant to the Amended Standing Order Regarding the Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Project #6 , their mandatory initial discovery responses are due by 3/4/2019. That deadline will not be extended absent the circumstances set forth in Section A (4) of the standing order. A status hearing is set for 3/8/2019 at 9:00 AM. The Court expects counsel or local counsel for both sides to be present in Court on that date. Mailed notice. (ym, )

February 4, 2019 Filing 15 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman: Case was called for a status on 2/4/2019. Although Plaintiff's counsel had notified the Court of their appearance by phone, having filed an appearance, counsel for Defendant did not appear. The Court will not hold a hearing without either party in court. Status hearing is set for 2/22/2019 at 9:00 AM. Counsel is reminded that pursuant to Local Rule 83.15, if counsel is not able to be present in court, designated local counsel should appear on their behalf. Mailed notice. (ym, )
