| Filing 43 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. Chang: Status hearing held. Plaintiff's out-of-state attorneys appeared by telephone. Plaintiff's local counsel appeared in court. The Court discussed with the parties the potential recusal issue, and the parties remain free to file an appropriate motion; the Court too will examine the issue. Defendant Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s extension motion to respond to the Amended Complaint #32 is granted to 03/26/2019. The Court extends the answer deadline for all Defendants that have a deadline that is earlier than 03/26/2019. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s motion to stay discovery and defer MIDP disclosures #30 is granted for now. Defendant Kathy Walker-Steele's motion to join the pending motions #38 is granted. Plaintiff is authorized to take limited discovery to determine whether named Defendants Gamma Chi Chapter and Delta Chi Omega Chapter have a separate legal existence from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and if so, what is the nature of those Defendants for purposes of service of process. After conferral, Plaintiff may issue discovery requests or subpoenas limited to that issue starting on 03/12/2019.
