| Filing 16 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Andrea R. Wood: Plaintiff has filed a motion to continue the initial status hearing currently set for 7/17/2019 #14 . The motion does not propose a new date for the initial status hearing but proffers as the reason for the request that Plaintiff has been unable to serve Defendant within the 90-day time period for doing so set by Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 4(m). The Court further notes that Plaintiff has also filed a "Letter" #12 requesting an extension of time to serve Defendant in this matter. The Letter request was not styled as a motion and was not noticed for presentment as required by Local Rule 5.3(b) and Judge Wood's case management procedures. The Letter also does not state how much additional time to serve Defendant is being sought. As an initial matter, the Court reminds Plaintiff that all requests for relief must be made by means of a properly-noticed motion; an unnoticed "letter" is not sufficient. Notwithstanding this procedural irregularity and the Court's prior admonition that no further continuances of the initial status date would be granted without an appearance, the Court will grant both of Plaintiff's requests as follows. The time for Plaintiff to serve Defendant is hereby extended until 8/16/2019. The initial status hearing set for 7/17/2019 is stricken and re-set for 8/13/2019 at 9:00 AM. Unless otherwise ordered by the Court, Plaintiff's counsel shall appear at the initial status hearing regardless of whether Plaintiff has been able to serve Defendant.
