Date Filed Document Text
May 24, 2019 Filing 5 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Virginia M. Kendall. Pro se plaintiff Ingrid Prince failed to pay the filing fee or apply for in forma pauperis (IFP) status by the ordered deadline that the Court already extended once. She has had three weeks to do so since she filed her complaint and received warning that she must pay. The Court therefore dismisses the complaint for want of prosecution. See Sperow v. Melvin, 153 F.3d 780, 781 (7th Cir. 1998). This dismissal is necessarily without prejudice because it is not an adjudication on the merits, and if the plaintiff pays the filing fee or submits an IFP application soon, the Court may allow her to reinstate this lawsuit. See Paul v. Marberry, 658 F.3d 702, 704 (7th Cir. 2011). Alternatively, the Court notes that it would dismiss the complaint because it fails to state a claim, is incomprehensible, and sues the wrong entity (who Prince failed to serve anyway). See Fed. R. Civ. P. 8(a)(2); (d)(1). The Court accordingly directs the Clerk to terminate this case.Civil case terminated. Mailed notice (lk, )
