| Filing 10 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. Chang: Status hearing held. Defendants made a verbal request to extend the answer deadline. The request is granted to 07/10/2019. Plaintiffs' counsel confirmed that the class/collective definition's time period is back three years from the complaint's filing. The defense estimated that perhaps there are only a dozen or so potential members; the business is very small. Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Project disclosures due 08/09/2019. ESI discovery shall be disclosed by 09/18/2019. The first-round of written discovery requests to fill gaps in the MID disclosures shall issue no later than 08/23/2019. Fact discovery shall close by 01/27/2020. No summary judgment motions may be filed before the close of discovery without leave of Court. Plaintiffs shall make a formal settlement demand by 08/09/2019 on Defendants, explaining in detail the basis for liability, itemizing damages, and making a good-faith demand that takes into account the risks of litigation, the time and expense of litigation. Defendants shall respond by 08/30/2019 to Plaintiffs' demand, explaining in detail the basis for Defendants' offer and taking into account the same risks and costs of litigation.
