May 2, 2019 Opinion or Order TEXT ORDER: Under 28 U.S.C. 1404(a), a court may, "in the interest of justice," "transfer any civil action to any other district or division where it might have been brought." Plaintiff Helene Williams, proceeding pro se, has filed this employment discrimination case in the Central District of Illinois. In reviewing the complaint (d/e #1 ) and proposed summonses (d/e 1-2), however, the Court notes that Plaintiff lists an address for herself which is in the Northern District of Illinois and that addresses for three of the four defendants appear to be located in the Northern District of Illinois (and the fourth in Texas). Moreover, the conduct of which Plaintiff complainsthat is, her terminationis alleged to have occurred within the Northern District of Illinois, meaning then that this case "might have been brought" in that district. The Court finds, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 1404(a), that in the interest of justice, this matter should be transferred to the Eastern Division of the Northern District of Illinois. All pending motions are left for determination by that court. Entered by Judge Sue E. Myerscough on 5/2/2019. (ME, ilcd) [Transferred from Illinois Central on 5/7/2019.]
