Filing 16 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. Chang:Status hearing held. Pro se Plaintiff Rosee Torres appeared and reported that Pro se Plaintiff Noel Torres would be unable to appear today due to medical reasons. As detailed during the hearing, by 01/17/2020, Plaintiffs shall file a brief explaining (1) why the Rooker-Feldman doctrine does not defeat subject matter jurisdiction (Plaintiffs are familiar with the concept from the order in 19 C 112); and (2) why the allegations against Defendants satisfy Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 9(b)'s particularity requirement. Also, by 12/06/2019, Defendants will be filing a Rule 12(b)(6) motion (and possibly also adding jurisdictional arguments). Status hearing set for 01/31/2020 at 8:30 a.m. The Court notified Plaintiff of the availability of the Pro Se Help Desk, and what to bring to an appointment (which should be made well in advance of the 01/17/2020 deadline).
