The proper venue for this case lies in the Central District of Illinois, where petitioner was convicted and where he is incarcerated. See 28 U.S.C. 2241(d). Accordingly, the clerk of this court is directed to transfer this case to the Central District of Illinois, Peoria Division. See 28 U.S.C. 1404(a); see also Braden v. 30th Judicial Circuit Court of Kentucky, 410 U.S. 484, 493-94 (1973) (the location where a petitioner was convicted and "where... records and witnesses pertinent to petitioner's claim are likely to be found," is generally considered the most appropriate forum).
