Filing 6 Civil case terminated. (lk, ) |
Filing 5 ORDER: On January 11, 2021, Plaintiff initiated this pro se civil rights action with a complaint listing several recent events (1) his experience with the coronavirus while incarcerated; (2) his October 5, 2020 arrest at Rush Hospital following a dispute with a hospital security guard; (3) the charges stemming from that arrest; (4) the Social Security Administration's handling of benefits during the ongoing public health crisis; and (5) other detainees' attack on him while in the Cook County Jail. #1 Plaintiff, however, already has initiated lawsuits regarding each of those issues: Nos. 20 C 7224 (regarding Rush Hospital arrest); No. 20 C 7661 (similar); 20 C 7638 (regarding benefits during public health crisis); 20 C 7649 (regarding attack by other detainees); 20 C 0139 (regarding coronavirus in Cook County Jail). The Court will administratively close this case as duplicative of case nos. 20 C 7224, 20 C 7661, 20 C 7638, 20 C 7649, and 21 C 0139 without assessing the filing fee, and without prejudice to Plaintiff pursuing his intended claims within the earlier-filed cases. The Court makes no assessment as to the substantive merits of any such claim(s). It is, though, Plaintiff's responsibility to track the cases that he has filed (as well as the claims within them), and, should he file future duplicative lawsuits, he may be assessed a filing fee and the duplicative lawsuit may be dismissed with prejudice as frivolous or malicious. All pending motions in this case #3 #4 are denied as moot. This case is closed. Signed by the Honorable Virginia M. Kendall on 2/2/2021. Mailed notice (aee, ) |
