Date Filed Document Text
June 1, 2021 Opinion or Order Filing 6 ORDER: Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #4 remains under advisement. If Plaintiff wants to proceed with this case, he must either: (1) prepay the $402.00 filing fee for this case; or (2) submit both: (a) an "IFP Statement" explaining why, despite his substantial income, he should be allowed to proceed without prepaying the filing fee for this case, including an explanation of how he spent his money; and (b) a trust fund account statement covering April 13, 2021, through the date of his IFP Statement. Plaintiff must comply by June 28, 2021, or the Court will summarily dismiss this case. Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #5 is denied without prejudice because it does not show that he has satisfied the threshold requirement of making a reasonable attempt to obtain counsel himself, Owens v. Duncan, 798 F. App'x 9, 13 (7th Cir. 2020), in part because the timeline of events suggests that he could not have waited long for a response. In any event, nothing suggests that he is unable to respond to this order, which calls for basic financial information and explanations regarding matters that are within his knowledge. Plaintiff is warned that he has an ongoing obligation to promptly submit a change-of-address notification if he is released or transferred to another facility. If he does not do so, this case will be subject to dismissal with no further warning for failure to comply with court orders or failure to prosecute. Signed by the Honorable Jorge L. Alonso on 6/1/2021: Mailed notice(daj, )
