Filing 19 Confidentiality Order Signed by the Honorable Mary M. Rowland on 12/14/2021. Mailed notice. (dm, ) |
Filing 18 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Mary M. Rowland: This Court has considered Defendant's motion for entry of confidentiality order #13 and Plaintiff's partial opposition #17 . Plaintiff opposes the designation of confidential information to include disciplinary records, hiring and/or promotion records, and information and materials from investigative files. This Court agrees with Defendant, however, that "because of the privacy interests at stake, and in particular the privacy interests of non-parties, it is appropriate to produce these documents only after designating them 'Confidential.'" Gordon v. Countryside Nursing & Rehab. Ctr., LLC, No. 11 C 2433, 2012 WL 2905607, at *3 (N.D. Ill. July 16, 2012); see also Davis v. Precoat Metals, a Div. of Sequa Corp., No. 01 C 5689, 2002 WL 1759828, at *4 (N.D. Ill. July 29, 2002) (ordering personnel records be subject to "an appropriate protective order ensuring that those files will be limited to attorneys' eyes only and that they can be used only for purposes of this litigation"). Additionally, although Plaintiff objects to the redaction of personal telephone numbers and personal email addresses, courts generally consider such redactions appropriate to guard privacy interests. Davis, 2002 WL 1759828, at *4; Prince v. Kato, No. 18-CV-2952, 2019 WL 3554533, at *5 (N.D. Ill. July 30, 2019). This Court accordingly grants Defendant's motion for entry of its proposed confidentiality order #13 . Enter Confidentiality Order. Mailed notice. (dm, ) |
