Filing 6 COMPLAINT filed by Kiesha Cuffy. (jh, ) |
Filing 5 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Andrea R. Wood: Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #1 is granted. The Court finds that Plaintiff is unable to pay the fees associated with filing this action and thus the filing fee is waived. The U.S. Marshal is appointed to serve Defendant. The Clerk is directed to docket Plaintiff's complaint #1 , issue summonses for service on Defendant by the U.S. Marshal, and send Plaintiff a blank USM-285 service form for Defendant, a magistrate judge consent form, filing instructions, and a copy of this Order. The Court advises Plaintiff that a completed USM-285 form is required for service on Defendant. Alternatively, Plaintiff may elect to serve Defendant or request a waiver of service on her own. The Court further notes that Plaintiff has not filed a motion for attorney representation along with her in forma pauperis application. Plaintiff is advised that she may qualify to have an attorney assigned by the Court to represent her on a volunteer basis. For the Court to consider recruiting a volunteer attorney for her, Plaintiff must complete and file a motion for attorney representation. The Clerk shall send Plaintiff a blank form motion for attorney representation along with this Order. If Plaintiff desires to have a pro bono attorney assigned to her case, she must file a completed motion for attorney representation by 1/11/2022. Telephonic status hearing set for 1/25/2022 at 10:45 AM. To ensure public access to court proceedings, members of the public and media may call in to listen to telephonic hearings. The call-in number is (888) 557-8511 and the access code is 3547847.
