December 20, 2021 Opinion or Order Filing 5 ORDER: Plaintiff's application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis #3 is denied without prejudice. Plaintiff must either submit a properly supported renewed application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis or prepay the full statutory $402 filing fee. If he does not comply by January 19, 2022, the Court will summarily dismiss this case. Plaintiff's motion for attorney representation #4 is denied without prejudice as whether an indigent litigant has made a reasonable attempt to obtain his own attorney is a "mandatory, threshold inquiry," Eagan v. Dempsey, 987 F.3d 667 (7th Cir. 2021), and writing to a single legal organization that has not yet responded is insufficient, Pickett v. Chicago Transit Auth., 930 F.3d 869, 871 (7th Cir. 2019); in any event, nothing suggests that Plaintiff is unable to address his fee status on his own. Plaintiff must promptly update his address if it changes while this case is open. If he fails to comply, this case will be subject to dismissal with no further warning. In addition, an audit of Plaintiff's past cases shows that he owes $350 in filing fees in Tenase v. Dart, Case No. 14 C 5619 (N.D. Ill.). The trust fund officer should update Plaintiff's records to include this case and commence monthly deductions, as specified in this order, until this fee is paid in full. The Court also notes that Plaintiff was allowed to proceed in forma pauperis in a federal case in Ohio, Tenase v. Fatheree, Case No. 21 C 324, Dkt. 11 (N.D. Ohio June 1, 2021)). Any inquiries regarding the fee order in the Ohio2case should be directed to the Clerk for the Northern District of Ohio. The Clerk is directed to: (1) send Plaintiff a blank application to proceed in forma pauperis, along with a copy of this order; and (2) send a copy of this order to the Cook County Jail's trust fund officer. Signed by the Honorable Marvin E. Aspen on 12/20/2021. Mailed notice. (pk, )
