Filing 9 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Ronald A. Guzman: Plaintiff (or another individual on plaintiff's behalf) delivered to the Court's staff an envelope of various materials, including several personal financial documents, labeled "Sealed for Judge Only." (One of the items in the envelope is a motion for reconsideration of the denial of plaintiff's application to proceed in forma pauperis, which is moot because plaintiff paid the filing fee on January 10, 2022.) Because plaintiff did not follow the proper methods for filing paper documents that are listed in the Local Rules for the Northern District of Illinois, the materials are being returned to plaintiff by United States Mail to the address plaintiff provided on her appearance form. The Local Rules, which are available on the court's website, provide that a pro se litigant may file paper documents in person (or by another individual in person) at the Clerk's Office; by United States Mail; by overnight delivery or courier service; or by using the drop box in the Courthouse. L.R. 5.2. During the public health emergency arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, pro se litigants also have the option of filing with the Clerk's Office via email. Per Amended General Order 21-0027, which is available on the court's website, email filings with the Clerk's Office must comply with the following requirements: (a) the filing must be in PDF format; (b) the filing must be signed s/ [filer's name] or bear a handwritten signature; (c) the email must be sent to Temporary_E-Filing@ilnd.uscourts.gov; (d) the email must state the party's name, address, and phone number; and (e) for existing cases, the email's subject line must read: "Pro Se Filing [Insert Your Case Number]." E-mails that do not comply with these requirements will not be reviewed and will not be considered a proper filing. Mailed notice. (kp, ) |
