Date Filed Document Text
July 14, 2022 Filing 6 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Ronald A. Guzman: Klint Kelley's motion for an extension of time to file a memorandum and exhibits in support of his Section 2255 motion #5 is granted. Kelley does not request any specific amount of additional time, and he only mentions "lockdowns" at his institution without providing any details. In the Court's view, an additional 45 days is a reasonable period of time for Kelley to prepare his supporting materials, so Kelley may file a memorandum and exhibits in support of his 2255 motion by 8/31/2022. The Court is not inclined to grant any further extensions of this deadline absent extraordinary circumstances. Mailed notice. (kp, )

June 1, 2022 Filing 4 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Ronald A. Guzman: Klint Kelley has filed a pro se motion to vacate or set aside his sentence pursuant to 28 U.S.C. Section 2255. In the motion, Kelley refers to a "memorandum and exhibits [that] are forthcoming in future amendment." (ECF No. 1, Mot. 18.) In a separate letter to the Clerk of Court, Kelley also states that he is "requesting leave to amend memorandum of law." (ECF No. #3 .) The Court construes these statements as a motion for leave to file a memorandum and exhibits in support of the Section 2255 motion and grants the motion. Kelley is given leave to file a memorandum and exhibits in support of his motion by 7/18/2022. Thereafter, the Court will enter an order setting deadlines for the government to respond and for Kelley to reply. The Clerk of Court is directed to mail Kelley a paper copy of this order at the following address: Klint Kelley #52091-424, USP Coleman I, U.S. Penitentiary, P.O. Box 1033, Coleman, FL 33521.
