Date Filed Document Text
December 5, 2022 Filing 13 MINUTE entry before the Honorable Maria Valdez: The parties' agreed discovery schedule is entered as follows: amendments to pleadings or actions to join other parties must be filed by 12/15/22; written discovery must be propounded no later than 5/16/23; fact discovery closes 6/30/23; initial experts must be disclosed by 7/21/23 and deposed by 8/11/23; and rebuttal experts must be disclosed by 9/15/23 and deposed by 9/27/23. Because the 6/30/23 fact discovery deadline is so generous, there will be no extensions absent extraordinary circumstances, and the parties must proceed expeditiously to complete discovery by the deadline they chose. The Court does not consider obligations in other cases, vacations, illnesses, or difficulty scheduling depositions to be extraordinary, as there is more than enough time to complete discovery even if those expected complications arise. A status report on discovery and the prospects of settlement is due by 1/20/23. The parties are strongly encouraged to consider all settlement options and may advise the Court if they wish to begin the process of scheduling a settlement conference prior to that date. Mailed notice (lp, )
